Accessing Your Student Account 

If your term bill is not paid in full by the due date, a financial hold will be placed on registration and diplomas. Financial holds can also be placed on your student account for other outstanding payments. Students cannot register for classes if they have a financial hold on their account. 

All students must register for classes before a term bill can be generated. They must also independently read and sign the Financial Responsibility Statement (FRS) at the time of course registration. 

All students are required to verify their attendance through the RU Here process. 

Students can apply for financial aid through the Office of Financial Aid and review awards on the Financial Aid Student Portal, which can be accessed through the myRutgers dashboard. If you are a Third Term student or started a fully online program over the summer and are receiving financial aid, contact us to verify your enrollment.

Reviewing your term bill 

Rutgers notifies students via email when the term bill is available to view online to help you understand your term bill. You can view tuition rates and fee descriptions to ensure that your tuition and fees are correct, or to get an idea of what to expect if your term bill charges are not yet available.  

Students can also learn how to apply credits – financial aid, tuition remission, and scholarship – to their account.  

Paying your term bill 

Different payment options are available. Pay by check, money order, credit card, or electronic check, or sign up for a payment plan. Tuition remission is available for all semesters except the Winter Session.  

Authorizing AUA 

Read the AUA process and instructional guide if you want to grant parents or third parties access to view and pay your term bill charges. 

All full-time students and F1, J1, F2, J2-supported students are required to have health insurance. Only full-time summer students are required to be enrolled in an active health insurance plan. Students already enrolled in the Rutgers Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) receive coverage throughout the summer and do not need to re-enroll until the fall semester. Learn how to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan by the deadline. 

Students may be eligible for a refund when financial aid, private loan funds, or direct payments (or any combination) credited to their term bill exceed the amount due. Student ABC encourages all students to enroll in direct deposit, which is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Students who do not sign up to receive their refund via direct deposit will receive their refunds in the mail by default. The paper refund check will be mailed to the student’s permanent home address on file and may take up to three weeks to arrive.

Note: Although you may have already signed up for direct deposit for the fall/spring semester, only paper checks are processed during the summer.
