Risk Management & Insurance

Risk Management & Insurance manages the complex array of universitywide risk and insurance-related matters. We

assess any risks/exposures with the potential to affect students, faculty, and staff;
procure and maintain the commercial insurance products/services; and
manage self-insurance programs (including loss prevention and claims administration).

The Rutgers Occupational Health Department provides high quality, evidence-based medical care for Rutgers employees who sustain work-related injuries and illnesses. It also helps ensure compliance with all federal and state regulatory agency requirements for medical clearance and surveillance of employees working in hazardous or safety-sensitive operations.

The Office of Student Health Insurance assist students with student health insurance concerns by acting as a liaison with the Office of Student Accounting, Billing and Cashiering; Rutgers Global; Rutgers Student Health (Health Services); University Health Plans (UHP); and UnitedHealthcare Student Resources (UHCSR). The office assist students on the Rutgers University–Camden, Rutgers University–Newark, and Rutgers University–New Brunswick campuses.
