Arcelio Aponte

Arcelio is the Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, Economic Development, and the Chief Financial Officer for Rutgers University–Newark (RU-N). As a member of the Chancellor’s senior leadership team, Arcelio provides oversight of the campus-wide budget and strategic management of financial operations. He oversees campus human resources and government relations and works in partnership with the university’s division of Institutional Planning and Operations on campus matters including, capital planning, facilities management, and coordination of the Rutgers Police Department at RU-N.

Before rejoining Rutgers, Arcelio served as the Director of U.S. Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Operations for Barclays US. Arcelio also served as Director of Operations and Management for Economic and Housing Development in the City of Newark.

Arcelio is Chairman of the Board of Directors for La Casa de Don Pedro, a local non-profit organization in Newark, and is an active member of the New Jersey State Board of Education.
