International Payments

We have partnered with Flywire to provide international students a secure payment method that simplifies the payment process. Flywire is the only vendor authorized by Rutgers to facilitate international payments; therefore, for safety and security reasons, students should not attempt to make international payments to the university through other third-party vendors or via direct wire transfer.

Through Flywire, students can:

  • Pay with accounts in their home country and in their currency (for most countries)

  • Use payment methods such as bank transfer, credit cards, and e-payments (Alipay/PayPal).

    • Due to government sanctions and Visa and Mastercard’s decision to suspend coverage in Russia, Flywire has temporarily deactivated all credit/debit card payments originating from Russia to minimize any impact to our payers. Flywire is not processing refunds to Russia, as we can have no confidence that the funds will get to their intended destination. At this time, Flywire can accept bank transfer payments from Russia for payers seeking to send destination currency (EUR, GBP, and USD only). Payers should work directly with their bank to understand any limitations the sanctions may impose on moving money abroad. Additional information regarding sanctioned countries is available here.

  • Avoid unnecessary bank fees and receive favorable foreign exchange rates.

All Rutgers and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Services (RBHS) can utilize this service via the Online Term Bill (OTB).
