Student Accounts and Term Bills

The Online Term Bill (OTB) is Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey’s official student term bill that includes all tuition, fees, payments, and financial aid credits. At the start of each semester, registered students will receive an email notifying them that their term bill is available. The bill can be viewed and paid through the Online Term Bill (OTB), an online student account summary. Parents/Guardians can gain access to their student's online account/term bill through the myGuest portal.

myGuest: Authorized Parent/Guardian Access to the Student Account System

Admitted and committed Rutgers students can authorize a parent/guardian or a third party to view incurred charges, make payments on their behalf, and access academic and other financial information. Under FERPA, a federal law that protects student rights regarding educational records, myGuest access can only be granted with the student’s permission.

To grant access, students can log into their myRutgers Dashboard and select the "Authorized Access" icon. Review the myGuest process and other helpful guides here

Please note that Rutgers Health has a different authorization process. Rutgers Health students must log into their online term bill to authorize a user. Students can review this step-by-step guide to learn how to provide authorization.

Tuition Protection Plan

We recommend that all students and families consider enrolling in the Tuition Protection Plan, which can help families overcome financial losses if their student must withdraw from school after classes begin. This plan expands the scope of our current refund policy by offering reimbursement for tuition, housing, and other fees due to covered withdrawals.

Tax Information for Education

The IRS requires the university to provide tax documents to help students and their families prepare their federal taxes and apply for education tax credits.

Electronic Refunds (Direct Deposit)

Students can have their refunds electronically deposited to their checking or savings accounts.

Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid establishes aid eligibility; awards scholarships, grants, loans, and employment to eligible students; and provides financial aid counseling to students and families to resolve any challenges associated with financing an education.

Office of Student Health Insurance

The Office of Student Health Insurance helps students with student health insurance concerns on the Rutgers University–Camden, Rutgers University–Newark, and Rutgers University–New Brunswick campuses by acting as a liaison with Student Accounting, Billing, and Cashier Services; the Center for Global Services; Rutgers Health Services; University Health Plans; and UnitedHealthcare Student Resources.
