In December of 2016, Misha Nehring began the process of interviewing for a position at what is known today as Rutgers University’s Investment Internship Program. One month later, Nehring, then a student pursing a Bachelor of Science in Finance at Rutgers Business School (RBS), became one of the Investment Office’s two inaugural interns.

Each month, various departments within University Finance and Administration (UFA) prepare to record entries and reconcile accounts for each fiscal year, all in anticipation of the year-end financial close, which typically takes place during the second week of August.

On September 29, J. Michael Gower, Executive Vice President – Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & University Treasurer, and Michele Norin, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), participated in a National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) webinar titled “Strengthening the Business-IT Partnership in Higher Education.” Gower and Norin discussed the importance of their work partnership and its impact on the success of the university.

J. Michael Gower, Executive Vice President – Chief Financial Officer and University Treasurer, hosted a Finance Town Hall on October 26 for more than 500 people to share the latest developments in finance and other universitywide initiatives.

Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare and University Procurement Services partnered together to launch the Middlesex Outreach for Recovery & Education (MORE) program, a community-based outreach intervention program targeting individuals diagnosed with opioid use and substance use disorders.

Student Accounting, Billing, and Cashier Services (Student ABC) has released its FY21 Annual Financial Report for the New Brunswick campus, which showcases great achievements during a challenging year.
